Charles 'Chuck' Schaefer Obituary Charles Ronald (Annabelle Josephine June) Schaefer, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, May 28th 2024 at the age of 74. Chuck was the second child of Karl and Alice Schaefer, born in Nampa, Idaho. The Schaefer family stayed loyal to the Nampa community throughout Chucks childhood and adolescence he graduated from Nampa Highschool in 1967.
Following his graduation from high school, Chuck joined the U.S. Navy and served his country from 1968 to 1972. In May of 1972 he met the love of his life, Janice Borchert. The two were married August 19th, 1972 at Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed over 44 years of marriage. Chuck and Janice lived in Nampa where they raised their three daughters Melissa, Melinda, and Amanda.
Upon returning from the U.S. Navy, Chuck began his HVAC career in the boiler room at the old Mercy Hospital. After working at the hospital, Chuck began working at Ferdinands Sheet Metal, where he met his future business partner, Del Munster. On April 30th, 1984, Chuck and Dels Heating and Cooling was established and was in business for 31 years. Over the course of 31 years, Chuck and Dels was one of the most trusted and respected HVAC companies within the Treasure Valley. Even after retirement, Chuck was still looked to for guidance with HVAC related needs.
Chuck took his role as a girl dad with great pride, from barrettes in his hair and curlers in his beard, to being the Girl Scout Cookie Master. Chuck taught his daughters how to tear apart a carburetor, use power tools, change a tire, tape and texture dry wall, use a chainsaw, and also how to love unconditionally.
Chuck became papa after the arrival of his first granddaughter, Mackenzie Loman. In the following years Chuck added to his papa portfolio - Ryker Loman, Avery Chynoweth, Jackson Chynoweth, and Zoey Chynoweth. To his grandchildren, Chuck was the most selfless man. Chuck was always there for them no matter the time or place. He was present at every choir concert, band concert, and sporting event. Chuck was well known throughout the sports community for his positivity and catch phrases, such as Rock and Fire. Chuck took many trips with his grandchildren that were filled with adventure and memories that will last a lifetime. Chuck was seen as a superhero to his grandchildren.
Recently, Chuck received a papa promotion to big papa with the arrival of Ivy Rae Conrique. As part of the initiation into the family, big papa took Ivy to Disneyland for the first time last July.
Chuck is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Janice, and daughter Melissa Schaefer-Farris. Chuck is survived by his brother Michel Schaefer (Sharon Schaefer), daughters Melinda Chynoweth and Amanda Schaefer, and his grandchildren, Mackenzie Loman, Ryker Loman (Kaetlyn Loman), Avery Chynoweth, Jackson Chynoweth, and Zoey Chynoweth, and great grandchild Ivy Conrique, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
