Charles Edward Wilcox Jr, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Nampa ID. He was born November 22, 1934, in Medford OR. Born to Charles E. Wilcox and Daphna Oletha Benford Wilcox. Chuck’s parents were the first to open an outdoor service restaurant in Eugene OR close to the university. Often US soldiers playing games would save games for him. Chuck had a super childhood until he lost his mother when he was 10 yrs. old from leukemia. At the time his only brother was 10 months old, Richard Frank Wilcox who now lives in Klamath Falls, OR. Chuck met his wife Delma in 1952 in Toppenish WA. They were married in 1954. In 1955 he took an aptitude test in Yakima WA which revealed his strength was in marketing. Later, he met a manager of the JC Penney Company and was hired the same day. He spent the next 40 years following James Cash Penney helping to build his company. He praised Mr. Penney for his founding principles for building the company from within; giving men and women opportunities for management. Chuck was a great supporter of JC Penney and his policies of training his managers from within the company. Nothing was more disappointing to him watching the company being run by tech people who knew nothing about how to run the stores and ultimately having to close many stores. He loved what he did while at the same time raising his family. After 5 years working in Yakima, he was transferred to Kennewick WA and two years later was transferred to Coos Bay OR. Everyone loved living on the coast and once again was transferred to Longview WA and to Montclair CA. in 1977 Chuck was given his first management store in Palm Springs CA. He also worked in Phoenix AZ and San Jose CA. He retired after 60 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Delma Wilcox, Nampa; daughter, Connie Wilcox, Big Bear CA; daughter and son-in-law Julie and Robert McInelly, Middleton ID and their 3 daughters; Jessie McInelly, San Diego CA, Kelley McInelly, Middleton ID, and Megan McInelly, Nampa ID; a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Gina Wilcox, Stockton CA and their children, Brandon Wilcox, Stockton CA, Kristina and her husband Jordan Ali, Stockton CA, and their 4 children; son and daughter-in-law Greg and Lou Ann Wilcox, Nampa ID and their children, Miles Wilcox, Boise ID and Jay and Michelle Wilcox and their children from Twin Falls ID; a son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Liz Wilcox, Middleton ID, their children Kyle Wilcox, Riley Wilcox, Christopher Garcia, all of San Jose CA and Meagan and her husband Michael Fenton, Costa Mesa CA
