On August 23, 2026, Christina Compton (Israel), of Nampa, Idaho, peacefully went to her heavenly home at the age of 71.
Christina was born on July 4, 1955, to Judson and Mary Ann (Schneider) Israel. Raised in the Roman Catholic Church, Christina remained faithful to her Catholic faith throughout her life.
Christina had a deep appreciation for nature and was an amateur photographer who especially enjoyed capturing the beauty of wildlife. Her love of photography and faith came together in a special project she published in August 2025, My Evening Jesus Prayer: A Memorization Prayer Book. The book features wildlife photographs she took herself and a childhood prayer taught to her by her grandmother, based on a hymn from the 1830s.
Christina was a loving mother to her three sons: Brandon (Autumn) Simmons, Jason (Cindy) Hunsaker, and Jesse (Sarah) Hunsaker. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Ian, Tenay, Averi, Elise, William, and Robert.
She is survived by her siblings Susie (Tony) Thomas, Theresa (Kirby) Wray, Clinton (Shari) Israel, and Michael Long, as well as her beloved Aunt Alice Thuma.
Christina is now reunited with those who preceded her in death, including her parents; her brothers, Ed Israel and John Israel; and her sister, Regina Farris.
Her life, faith, love of family, and appreciation for the beauty of God’s creation will be remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Middleton Cemetery on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
