Rochester, New York to Gerhard and Marthe Hesselbein Eichholz. As a young man, he lived in Florida for a short time and then moved out west to Idaho. He lived in Caldwell where he worked as a bounty hunter with the Canyon County Sheriffs Office
He married Karen Burrow on December 24, 1994 in Portland, OR. Together they owned their own truck and drove together across the country as long haul truck drivers for many different companies.
Klaus was an avid reader throughout his life. He also enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved being on the Oregon Coast. But his greatest love in his life was being with his family and especially his 13 grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Karen of Caldwell; a brother, Daniel E. (Debbie) Eichholz of North Carolina; A daughter, Georga Hackworth of Virginia; 13 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and several extended family members who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Christian Children Fund, P.O. Box 26484, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond, VA 23261-6484
