Clifford Milo Eichelberger, 88, of Nampa, Idaho, died April 1, 2017. Cliff was born at his home in Beemer, Nebraska on July 11, 1928 to parents Joseph and Sadie (Burky) Eichelberger. He graduated from Beemer High School in 1945 and then farmed with his father and older brother, Harold. On June 15, 1950, he married Lucille Kauffman from Glendive, Montana at a rural Mennonite Church near Bloomfield, Montana. The couple lived and farmed the land near his childhood home in Beemer until 1955 when they moved near Bloomfield to work on a farm there. The growing family moved to Glendive in 1957 where Cliff learned to drywall, which he did until retirement. While in Glendive he joined the Gideon's in 1960 and served in both local and state positions. Cliff was often called to fulfill a Sunday service at various churches in the absence of a pastor. The Eichelberger family eventually moved to a home in the country near Savage, Montana, to raise a family of six. This was their home until 1989, when they moved to Nampa, Idaho.
As a young man, he won two trophies in ping pong tournaments. Later in life, he ice-skated frozen Burns Creek in Montana under the light of the moon with his wife and children. As life slowed down, Clifford enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, cheering the Boise State Broncos football team and entertaining his grandchildren, children and many friends.
Clifford is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Lucille; children Harley (Oeby) Eichelberger, Eau Claire WI; Jeanne (Jon) Lindskoog, Tulare CA; Wanda (Rick) Kim, Poplar MT; Terry (Karen) Eichelberger, Townsend MT, and Ken (Jayna) Eichelberger, Meridian 10; twelve grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren; and his sister, Marilyn Oswald of Beemer NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Harold, his sisters Erma Mae Rediger and Lois Schaum, and his daughter, Rose Tish. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The Eichelberger family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Kindred Care for their attentiveness and loving care. The family also asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International, PO Box 173, Nampa, ID 83653.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. An online guestbook is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
