On January 20, after a short but intense battle with cancer, Colleen (Davlin) Bayles left us to join her mother and father for a cup of coffee and a long talk and for the first time to play with infant daughter Casie. Colleen passed away surrounded by family and spent her last evening engaging with a house full of family and friends who miss her already and whose loss will be felt even more heavily as we fully realize the hole she leaves in our lives. Colleen was born on May 20, 1966 to Timothy and Regina (Arehart) Davlin in Denver, CO. Colleen was raised in Colorado City, CO and Nampa, ID. After graduation from High School, Colleen moved to Phoenix, AZ with some friends. From there, Colleen joined the United State Air Force and was stationed in Turkey during the First Gulf War. Colleen met and married William Bayles and had five lovely daughters. After his discharge from the Navy, the growing family moved to Caldwell, finally settling in Nampa. Colleen was very active in her Catholic faith and in her parish of St. Pauls. Colleen was active in Youth Group and RCIA (Right of Christian Initiation for Adults) for many years. Colleen also wrote a newsletter for the Parish. Colleen was inspired to write poetry and even published a book of her poems. After raising her daughters, Colleen got her CDL and found another calling as a contract transportation driver for special needs clients to medical appointments and work facilities. Colleen was dedicated to her clients and worked very well with them. Colleen was so invested in her clients that she worked not only long after it would have been reasonable to quit due to her illness but even until it was literally impossible for her to drag herself there anymore.
Colleen leaves behind four daughters, Megan, Brynn, Kirstin and Andrea Bayles, grandson Bronson, her four brothers, Chuck and his wife Kathy, John and Clint, all of Nampa and Joe and his wife Claire of Rapidan, VA., nieces and nephews, Samantha Kisor and her family of Lemoore, CA, Charles and Nathan Davlin and his family of Rapidan, VA, Ryan Williams, Rickie Irwin, Jacob, Zachary, Becky, Emily, Brooke and Nick Davlin all of Nampa, also, grandnephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and much extended family. Colleen has gone to join both sets of Grandparents, Charles and Mary Davlin of Erickson, NE and Leonard and Angela Arehart of Nampa, her parents and infant daughter Casie who died on the day of her birth, as well as several uncles, aunts and cousins.
We, the family, would like to thank the Orange Team Oncology folks at the Veteran's Hospital and Treasure Valley Hospice for the love and compassion they showed during Colleens illness. We are especially thankful for all of the Employees of Treasure Valley Transit whom she loved like family, for their kindness, love and generosity; she truly loved working with you guys!
