Colleen Cook, beloved daughter, wife, mother and sister, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2010 of injuries sustained in an ATV accident near Brownlee, Idaho.
Colleen was born on January 14, 1952 to William Oscar and Bessie Hickey. She was raised in the Weiser, Idaho area and married James L. Nixon in 1970. She later married Michael Cook on Oct 9, 2004, and they made their home in Nampa, Idaho.
Colleen was the City Clerk of Stanley, Idaho for many years and later the same for the City Of Kuna. She was the present City Clerk and Treasurer for the City of Wilder, Idaho.
She loved outdoor activities, animals, arts and crafts, and gardening. She was an accomplished quilter, and received numerous awards and accolades for her beautiful work and design. Colleen touched the hearts of all she knew and will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her husband Michael Cook of Nampa, ID, two daughters, Monica Nixon of Meridian, Idaho and Katie Nixon Beckdolt (Jim) of Hailey, Idaho, as well as her mother Bessie Hickey Austin of Weiser, ID, her brothers Bill (Whitney), John and Jim Hickey, and her sister Jo Anne Scott (Gene) of Fruitland, ID, along with her step children Trisha and Gilbert Gold, their three children of Nampa, ID, her step brother Jim Austin (Barbara) of Boise, ID and Colleens many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father William Oscar Hickey.
Services will be held at the Cross Roads Assembly Church in Wilder, Idaho on Friday, October 29th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
