Constance Joan Connie Richey, 82, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away on September 8, 2014, after a beautiful, rich, joyful life that was cut short by cancer. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 at the Nampa Funeral Home Yraguen Chapel in Nampa. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 at the Nampa Funeral Home Yraguen Chapel. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com Connie was born December 7, 1931 in Nampa, Idaho, to Dick and Roxie Rhodes (Masingill). She lived her early years in both Oakland, CA and Nampa, ID before graduating from Nampa High School with the class of 1949. On June 13, 1951, she married William Eugene Gene Richey in Nampa, Idaho. Connie and Gene built their family home in Nampa in 1966 and lived there until recently moving to Boise. Connie loved her Nampa house and the surrounding acreage. It was her place of beauty, solace, and pride of hard work. Connies house was the epicenter of her love of gardening, entertaining, and healthy cooking while providing a Garden of Eden for her children, grandchildren and the families in her neighborhood. The thirst for education and learning fueled Connies work life for the Nampa School District, College of Idaho, Cottey College, First Security Bank and The Idaho Center/Thomas Cuisine. Connie made lifelong relationships with many of her colleagues by demonstrating a dedication to hard work and striving for graceful perfection in all the endeavors she chose. Much like the bounty from her beloved gardens, Connie was sweet. She bestowed her sweetness to all that came in contact with her from all walks of life; we were all blessed to have Connie in our lives. Connie is survived by husband Gene Richey, brother Gary Rhodes (Audrey) of Mountain Home; sons Mark Richey (Candy) of Eagle, Scott Richey (Kathleen Roma) of Boise, Blake Richey (Jesse) of Tualatin Oregon, and Craig Richey (Pohley) of Boise; five grandchildren, Amanda (Justin Brown - San Francisco, CA), Adrian (Boise), AJ (Golden, CO), Sloan (Boise) and Reece (Boise). She will be deeply missed by all. The family would like to thank St. Alphonsus Hospice for their loving care and dignity they provided Connie.
