Craig Jackson Obituary Craig Michael Jackson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, in Star, Idaho. Born on June 8, 1961, in Boise, Idaho, to Larry and Dinah Jackson, Craig brought joy and kindness to everyone he met throughout his life.
Craig grew up in Boise, attending Highlands Elementary, North Junior High, and Boise High School. A talented athlete, he played on the Boise State University golf team before starting his professional journey in the golf and landscaping industries. Craig began his career as part of the construction crew for Quail Hollow Golf Course, quickly earning the role of assistant superintendent at Hillcrest Country Club.
On May 25, 1985, Craig married the love of his life, Nancy, in Boise, Idaho. Together, they built a life centered on family and hardwork. After the birth of their first son, Curtis, in 1987, Craig pursued a superintendent role at McCall Golf Course. The family returned to the Boise area in 1993 where Craig started his own commercial and residential landscaping business and in 1994, Nancy and Craig welcomed the birth of their second son, Dallas. The family moved from Boise to Star, Idaho in 1999.
Throughout his career, Craigs passion and dedication to golf course management led him to oversee numerous projects as a project manager for Timberstone, where he contributed to the reconstruction of Yellowstone Club, Wolf Creek, Sunriver Resort, and Rising Sun in Montana, among others. He concluded his illustrious career as the superintendent at Eagle Hills Golf Course.
Known for his infectious smile, work ethic, and willingness to lend a helping hand, Craig left an indelible mark on those who knew him. He never met a stranger and was a constant source of positivity and encouragement. While his work often took him away from home, his heart was always with his wife and sons. In recent years, he found immense joy in following his two older grandchildrens sports activities, watching his youngest grandson grow up, and preparing for the wedding of his youngest son, Dallas.
Craig is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Dinah Jackson, and his sister, Laurel Richter. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Jackson; his sons, Curtis Jackson (Kallie) and Dallas Jackson (Elizabeth); his three grandchildren; his brother, Curtis Jackson; his sister, Rebecca Wingett (Steve); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family in the Boise area and beyond.
A celebration of life will be announced later this year to honor Craigs vibrant personality and lasting impact in the golf community. A private service for immediate family will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Craigs memory to Laurel's Legacy, a charity of your choice or to an organization dedicated to the game of golf, a sport he loved and nurtured throughout his life.
The service will be live streamed and here is the link for the live stream https://my.gather.app/remember/craig-michael-jackson
