Curtis Jay Bedell was born to Herbert and Anna Bedell on September 19,1957 in Bay Shore, Long Island, NY. He attended school in West Islip, Long Island, NY. In 1975 Curt moved to Nampa, ID to attend Northwest Nazarene College, where he met his wife, Deborah Dutton. They were married April 22, 1977. Curts greatest passion was his wife and three children, Kristen, Ryan, and Tyler, whom he always encouraged in their musical, athletic, and educational pursuits. He was always so proud of every accomplishment and never hesitated to share with everyone. Curt always had a very tender heart towards children. He often spent time with families of sick children and delivered teddy bears to them in the hospital. He was a passionate musician, playing bass and guitar in many forms. He was an active member of Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, where he played in the worship band. Curt was especially passionate about Childrens Ministry, where he played guitar in the Treasure Cove Castaways band, and toured with the 5th-6th grade Seattle Childrens Choir. He also played bass in the band Zamar for over 30 years and performed in various community organizations, such as Majors and Minors and Music Theater of Idaho. Curts other passions included riding his Harley with Road Riders for Jesus and the Patriot Guard, playing and coaching soccer and hockey, and treating his wife to weekly date nights. Curt was extremely hard working and analytical, constantly quizzing his children on proper grammar and mathematics. He worked for MotivePower for 36 years. He inspired and encouraged many and will be dearly missed. Curt is survived by wife Deborah Bedell, children Kristen Bedell, Ryan (Katherine) Bedell, Tyler Bedell, siblings Betty Ann Patterson, Ann Palow and William Bedell and numerous extended family members and friends. Curt was preceded in death by his father Herbert Bedell, mother Anna Bedell, and mother-in-law Nancy Dutton. A viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A funeral service Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, with an additional viewing from 12:00 to 1:30 P.M.
