Obituary

Cynthia Madrid Obituary CYNDES LIFE STORY Cynthia Dee Kessel was born in Dallas, Oregon on December 11, 1959, to Darwin and Cleoria Kessel. She grew up in the Willamette Valley until about the age of ten when her family moved to the Kuna where they lived until she and her sisters moved into a place together. Cynde lived in Yakima, Washington where she attended Business College and later attended Boise State University. She always wanted to go back and get her nursing degree, but life got in the way She married Phillip Francke, and they had two children Lucas and Jennifer (Pretty Face) together. She began working at Amalgamated Sugar shortly thereafter and retired from there as the supervisor in the lab. She worked at Amalgamated for many many years. During her years with Amalgamated she was also a Representative for the Union. Her and Phil divorced, and she married Steve Ferguson. They had one child together, Jacob. After she and Steve divorced, she married Curtis Nichols, and then three more children came along, Kenze (Doll Face), Karlie (Fancy Face) and Murphy (Murph Man) After the death of her youngest son, she and Curtis divorced, and she later married Douglas Madrid. Her children were her greatest joy in life - until her grandkids came along! If you needed a helping hand, Cynde was the go-to person. After retirement she enjoyed being her mothers travel companion and together, they saw many beautiful places. She was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International (ESA) where she served as St. Jude Coordinator. She and her mother participated in a 60-mile bike ride in Dallas, Texas in July, and a trike ride in Kuna, to raise money for Saint Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee. As the coordinator, she was privileged to visit the hospital. Cynde had a lot of sorrow in her life, but she always persevered. But she also had many good, happy times. She enjoyed riding horses, camping, fishing, and spending time with her family. She never missed an opportunity to dress up in a costume; she and her mom took her infant daughter to the emergency room in Raggedy Anne costumes. What a kick! I truly cannot find the words to describe the void that will be left behind from the loss of Cynde. She was a caring, fun loving, smart, hilarious, and adventurous soul. She was my dad', s partner in crime, his confidant, and his love. She was more to me than most people realized. Cynde was always about having a good time and looking for the positive, a very glass half full even when her world was crumbling kind of a person. She was the type of woman who always put others first and was a source of strength when someone needed it. Cynde will be greatly missed by all who were able to share their lives with her. I am comforted by knowing she is with her two sons, her Douglas, her sister, and others she has lost. I know they were waiting with open arms to embrace her and enjoy the humor only she could bring out in all. I love you and will miss you, love your stepdaughter whom you did not make feel less than.
