IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dan
Craig
September 5, 1923 – March 24, 2015
Early in the morning, on March 24th, Dan Lamar Craig quietly and gently passed into heaven, having passed away at his home.
Dan was born on September 5, 1923 in Alton, Illinois to Edward and Irene Craig. He was very close to his three siblings; Calvin, Edward, and John. All 4 children are now reunited in heaven.
Dan met his best friend and love, Georgia (Bacus) in 1949. The handsome, dapper young man swept her off her feet. They fondly remember celebrating the 4th of July on their first date. Dan and Georgia were married one year later in Alton, and were blessed in perfect succession by three beautiful daughters. Dan moved his young family to San Diego, California in 1955 after falling in love with the area while in service to his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946. In 1981, Dan and Georgia moved to Nampa, Idaho to spend their retirement years near their children and grandchildren.
Dan was a strong man with passionately held beliefs. He leaves a legacy of a family who love each other fiercely. His daughters remember pony rides on Daddy's back, special presents brought home after business trips, and magical Christmas visits to Balboa Park. His grandchildren remember hand-in-hand walks, feeding horses, story books on Grandpa's lap, and wintergreen mints passed silently during church.
He is remembered by his wife Georgia, their daughters and sons-in-law, Marla (Tom) Wheeler and Debbie (Ted) Wheeler, their youngest daughter, Cheri (Don) Brown, who passed before him in late 2014, his 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous brother- and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to thank United Hospice for their excellent and loving care. Emily and Dave especially helped carry us all through a difficult time.
