Dan Romero, 94, of Nampa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, surrounded by his family. Dan was born on May 17, 1917 in Questa, New Mexico, to Jose Angelo and Victoria Romero. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, attending the Saturday livestock sale, dancing, singing and playing his guitar. He was a dedicated employee to the CCC camps where he enrolled in 1934 in Fruita, Colorado and the Roger Brothers Seed Company in Nampa where he retired in 1983. He will be greatly missed by all family and friends. He has left each of us with special memories, stories and will live forever in our hearts.

He is survived by his children: Louie Romero, Meridian, Toni and Joe Redding, Grand Junction, CO, Anna and Luis Vargas, Nampa, Charlotte and Jim Archer, Nampa, Joe and Esther Romero, Nampa, Fred and Kay Romero, Caldwell, Lewis "Aggie" Herrera, Caldwell, Linda Martinez, Nampa, Judy Brown, Manuel and Keyva Herrera, Caldwell, Ted and Denise Romero, Nampa and Billy and Marletta Romero, McCall; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy S. Romero.

The family would like to give special thanks to Joan at Tender Heart Home Care, Denise Hall and the team of staff at Streamside Assisted Living, Saint Alphonsus Nampa and the ICU Treatment team and finally Allison Carter at Hospice Home Health. The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to a favorite charity.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at St. Pauls Catholic Church, Nampa. Private family burial will be held in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
