Daryl "Jon" Ward, 48, passed away suddenly at Grasmere Deer Camp on October 2, 2016. He was born to Faye and Ralph Ward on October 14, 1967, in Nampa, Idaho. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1985. Jon worked at various odd jobs during that time and following graduation. He began his career with Bruneel Tire Factory for 8 years in Garden City, Idaho. He continued working in the tire business with Jacks Tire & Oil for 23 years, progressing through the ranks until he was named manager of the Boise Retread Shop location in 2008 to the present. Jon had many hobbies and interests. As a true Ward, he loved the outdoors! Numerous family members and friends have shared hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and UTV-ing over the years at Lake Lowell, the Owyhee Mountains, and other prime locales for such memories. Any given Sunday in season, he could be found watching NASCAR and/or the Buffalo Bills on TV. His uncanny ability to fix anything was inherited from his late father Ralph, and he kept vehicles and all things mechanical running for many of us. He has continued to do odd jobs throughout his life to better our homes and yards. He could always be found in the background helping others in many ways with a work ethic second to none! Jon was a man who could create humor in any situation, and his family and friends will never forget the variety of his favorite sayings. Like most hard-working outdoorsmen, his stories of adventures (and misadventures) were intriguing and matchless Again, never to be forgotten! He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph E. Ward. Jon is survived by his dear mother, Marilyn "Faye" Ward; and his loving wife of 25 years, Kandis (Johnson) Ward. He is affectionately remembered by his three children: Two daughters, Kortney (23) and Katey (21) Ward, and one son, Hunter (18) Ward. He is also survived by one brother, Neal (Beverly) Ward; and three sisters, Karla (Nick) Becker; Kareen (Edward) Welsh; and Kelley Taylor. In addition, he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as Sampson, the wonder dog! The family wishes to thank the emergency response teams from several local agencies in the southern Idaho and the northern Nevada areas. Also much love and gratitude is expressed to the family and friends who have always been there for Jon and the rest of us. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday October 7, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Nampa Funeral Home/Yraguen Chapel at 415 12th Ave. South in Nampa, Idaho 83651 (Phone: 208/442-8171).
