David Nichols Obituary David Frank Nichols, 59 of Boise, Idaho, passed away on August 29th, 2023, in Manhattan Beach, CA.
David was born in Nampa, ID to Donna and Robert Nichols on September 13th, 1963. He attended high school at Vallivue High in Caldwell, ID. He later attended and earned a BS in Psychology and a Masters in Instructional Technology at Boise State University in Boise, ID.
David was a life-long Entrepreneur. As he would confess, he was not built to be an employee. He had a passion for technology and creativity. He was always interested in how to leverage technology to create a new process, product, or service. David started his professional journey as a desktop publisher promoting local bands in Boise, ID. He was an early adopter of the Mac computer, and he spent hours learning all he could about how he could use this technology to create digital media products. This passion led him to Southern California where he further developed his knowledge and skills producing digital edutainment and gaming media products. He successfully launched a digital media development company in Los Angeles where he and his talented team created online marketing campaigns, websites and other digital media content for A-list movies, DVD, home entertainment and corporate clients. David loved his work and the people he was fortunate to work with through the years. He amassed a large network of friends and colleagues throughout his professional career that he loved to be around. His work and the people in his profession brought him great joy.
David had a passion for learning and being entertained. He was passionate about music, literature, movies, artistic creativity and would spend a great deal of time discovering unique experiences for his amusement. He had the utmost respect for creative individuals and often referenced books, movies, songs, products that he thought to be "really interesting or well done." He had the ability to see the unique angles in people and things and always took time to investigate those angles that most dont see or ignore. He appreciated quality in all things and strived to achieve a high level of quality in his own life.
David also liked to write and journal. He strived to publish a book and participated in writing workshops and contests when possible. Other hobbies and interests were photography, golf, tennis, and baking.
Having a conversation with David was a unique pleasure. He was always engaged, thoughtful and encouraging when he spoke. David had many, many friends and always made time to reach out to all he knew and connect whenever possible. He cherished his relationships with his friends and family and always took time to reach out and stay connected.
David was a devoted Father and prided himself on providing his son, Ben all the support and love in all of Bens endeavors. Always encouraging, David helped create visions for Ben of whats possible and that Ben could achieve anything if he believed it to be.
David had a big, bright complicated mind that he shared with us all in his unique way. We will all miss his quick, smart wit, his great conversation and his passion for always being interesting and interested.
David is survived by his son, Ben: Brothers, Curtis, and Jerry: Sisters, Lori, Tammy, Davina and several nieces and nephews.
The Family invites all who knew and loved Dave to join us in remembering Daves life and sharing stories and memories. We will gather from 12:00 4:00PM on Saturday, September 30th at Kristin Armstrong Municipal Park (Linden Site). The park is located at 500 S. Walnut St. Boise, Idaho 83712.
