Obituary

Deborah Kay (Thornton) Curl, 58, of Nampa, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 after a lengthy battle with leukemia and related complications. A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at the Karcher Church of the Nazarene, 2515 W. Karcher Rd in Nampa. A private graveside service will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. 442-8171. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com Debbie was born in Nampa, Idaho on January 10, 1959 and grew up in Port Angeles, Washington. After graduating from Northwest Nazarene College in 1981 she worked as an elementary teacher in the Meridian and Nampa School Districts, also earning a Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University in 1986. She has been an active member of Karcher Church of the Nazarene her entire married life and served the Lord joyfully. Debbie is survived by her husband of 32 years, Bob Curl, her sons Joel Michael Curl, Jared Mathew Curl and daughter-in-law Sarah Ballenger, and Jadon Mitchell Curl; her parents Mert and Juanita Thornton, brother and sister-in-law Steve and Kathy Thornton, sister and brother-in-law Sherri and Phil Johnson as well as five nieces and nephews. To honor Debbies life the family is suggesting that blood be donated to a local Red Cross Blood Drive in memory of Debbie Curl.
