Delia Barrero, 63, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 in her home in Nampa, Idaho. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Alex Barrero and her two children, Carla and Said Barrero.
Delia was born in Cochabamba, Bolivia on April 16, 1951 to Juan and Bertha Lazarte. She was the oldest of seven children. She graduated from medical school in Bolivia in 1978, and worked as a general physician in neighboring towns. She impacted the lives of many families and children in small communities.
While working as a physician, she met Alex Barrero in a town called Challapata. They both got married in 1988. Not soon after, Delia left her family and career in Bolivia to start a family of her own with Alex in Idaho. In the years that followed, she worked in different jobs where she continued to impact many people.
In her spare time Delia enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She also loved to learn new things and travel. Delia was always happy to support her family in any way possible, and has always dreamt for the success of her children. She instilled in them many lessons including teaching them to be bilingual. Even while adopting American customs, Delia still continued her traditions, and kept in close contact with her family back in Bolivia.
She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family. She was known by many as a great friend, wife, sister, and mother to her loved ones.
Viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. followed by a Celebration of her life at 11:00 A.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
