Dell Allen Rider of Nampa, Idaho passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the age of 78. Dell was a man of integrity. He was kind, generous, and had a great sense of humor. He was born March 4, 1937 in Challis, Idaho to Laverne Kay Rider and Amanda Marie Rider. Dell served in the Navy and in the National Guard where he held the rank of Sergeant. Between his military service, he became a shaper of minds and taught at the Navajo Indian Reservation in Church Rock, New Mexico. He soon earned his Masters Degree and became a principal at Twin Lakes Elementary School in New Mexico. He continued his thirst for knowledge and achieved his Doctorate in Religion. After retiring he became an investor. He returned to Idaho and worked in the construction of rebuilding homes. He is preceded in death by his parents Laverne Kay Rider and Amanda Marie Rider, two brothers Ralph and William Rider, one sister Elise Todd and great granddaughter Vanessa McManus. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Josile Rider. His brother, Don Rider of Reno, Nevada. His six children, sons Jeffrey and Patrick Rider, daughters Shelly Mercer and Pamela Rider, all of Gooding, Idaho; Tammy Rider of Nampa, Idaho and Tracy Sockett of San Diego, California. He also leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives.
