Obituary

Delores Ann Hubbard, 81, of Nampa, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. She was born to Victor and Kathern Wallis April 5, 1934. She grew up in the Nampa area with her brother Bill playing baseball and saving bottle caps for the Saturday matinee. She was very athletic and excelled at sports. It was said that she could hit the ball farther than all the boys on the block. She graduated from Nampa High School in 1952. She left home that summer to live with her grandma and grandpa in Donnelly, Idaho where they were owners of the Log Bar and Caf. Mom was already a hard worker and a skilled cook. She was a great help in their kitchen and waiting tables. It was here in Donnelly she met John (Jack) Hubbard, fell in love, and married on December 27, 1952. They would remain together for the next 60 years until Jack passed away in 2012. She raised three beautiful children Teresa, Katie, and Scott and remembered these years as the best years of her life. They were her pride and joy. She would go on to spoil them with love and affection, homemade apple pie, and strawberry jam. She took being a mother and housewife very seriously and strived to keep a beautiful home at all times. Her greatest hobby was scratch cooking dinner for family and friends. Our family has many fond memories of Sunday dinner or huge holiday dinners orchestrated by her. It didnt matter if she was cooking for a logging camp full of men or a small family dinner, no one ever went away hungry and there were always plenty of leftovers. She would spend most of her child rearing years in Bountiful Utah where Jack was stationed at Fort Douglas with the Army. Teresa, Katie, and Scott for the most part attended the same schools and would all eventually graduate from the same high school. Delores went outside the home in the early 80s to work as a bakery manager for Skaggs Alpha Beta. She remained employed there until she and Jack moved back to Boise in the late 80s. They eventually purchased a cabin back in Donnelly where it all began and would spend the rest of their summers there with family, friends, grandchildren, and their beloved dog Sammy. Days were spent enjoying the mountains, wildlife, bird watching, fresh air, and moms cooking. They would spend winters in their RVs in St George, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vic and Katy Wallis; her husband, John (Jack) Hubbard; and daughter, Katie Ann Hubbard. Delores is survived by her brother Bill Wallis and his wife Jerri and their children; her children, Teresa Ann Mooney and son in law, Ryan Sterling Mooney and Scott Calvin Hubbard and daughter in law, Erica Anne Hubbard; five grandchildren, Kyle, Carri (husband Brandon), Kade (wife Tiffany), Isabel , Cole; and her four great grandchildren, Jayden, Landon, Myles, and Gracie. Our mom will be missed very much, her caring hands, her quick sense of humor, and the warmth of her love Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, April 25th, 2015 at10 am, Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa.
