Dennis Gans, 82, of Caldwell, Idaho, passed into eternal life at home, surrounded by his family, on January 26th, 2026.
Dennis was born in Woodland, CA, on November 6th, 1943, to Alfred and Freida Gans. The youngest of 5 children, Dennis grew up on his family’s dairy farm in Esparto, CA. As a young man he served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer, stationed in Germany. After discharge, he worked a variety of jobs before opening The Sierra Pie & Potato Shoppe in Woodland, CA, with his sister, Darleen. It was at this restaurant that he met his wife of 50 years, Rozanne (Fruit) Gans. Dennis and Rozanne had their 4 children in Woodland, CA, later moving to Arbuckle, CA, where he spent many years working with his family in his custom cabinet shop. After retiring, Dennis moved to Caldwell, ID, where he spent much of his time working on projects with his family, and working with his kids and grandkids at Krazy Dog, his retirement venture. Although Dennis had an unwavering work ethic, his life was not defined by that, but by his Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Freida Gans; his brother, Donald Gans; brother, Delmar Gans; brother-in-law, Gene Manhart; brother, Delfred Gans; sister-in-law, Donita Gans; and niece, Cindy Drake.

Psalm 23
A Psalm of David
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
For thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
