IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diana
Seba
June 16, 1951 – May 19, 2025
Di was born in Kansas City, MO to Sidney and Una (Wright) Bishop. She spent most of her childhood near Anacortes, Washington. Their home was on the beach and she loved the water and the gray skies that are familiar to those living in the Pacific Northwest. Di was the oldest of the "fab five" Bishop sisters, and they all looked up to her as the leader of the pack! They spent summers playing on the beach, building forts and digging clams (sometimes with their hands.) The family also enjoyed many camping trips where they would sing while preparing meals and doing dishes.
Di graduated from Anacortes High School in 1969. She attended NNC (now NNU) in Nampa, ID, and later graduated from the University of Washington. She taught school and actively inspired her students to love learning. Some of the other positions Di held were secretary for King of Glory Lutheran church and one term as a secretary for a representative of the Idaho state legislature.
Di had a strong faith from childhood. She loved music and singing in the choir. Anyone who sat near her in church would know that she sang the hymns with gusto! She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Nampa for over 30 years. She has volunteered to help in many ways and enjoyed the sweet fellowship of many friends there. Eric Wilson Weiburg introduced Di and Heinz to each other, and they were married there 27 years ago. She often wrote entries for the Advent devotional that Trinity puts out every year. She was a regular at Trinity Lutheran's weekly book study.
Di was always fond of animals, owning dogs when young and a variety of cats as an adult. She was even called a "crazy cat lady" by some of those close to her. Di enjoyed cooking and gardening and had many house plants. In her leisure time she liked to read and watch movies. Di spent many happy hours playing games and putting puzzles together with her family and friends. Wherever she was, there was laughter.
Di passed away at St. Alphonsus hospital in Boise surrounded by her husband and sisters, who sang her favorite hymns and read aloud scriptures she had requested. She is survived by her husband, Heinz Seba, her sisters, Martha (Bill) Budd, Nelda (Ken) Reed, Rhonda (Hugh) Joslyn, and Trisha (Kevin) Butler, numerous nieces and nephews and their offspring, and two faithful cats. She was preceded in death by her parents and many well-loved pets.
