Dona Elizabeth Revels Holt, lovingly known as Betty, was born on October 20, 1941, in Newhall, California, to Elva and Georgia Revels. In 1948, her family moved to Boise, Idaho, where she was raised and later graduated from Boise High School in 1959.
Shortly after high school, Betty married Robert Holt, and together they had two sons, Doug and Monte. The family lived in Boise and later in Pocatello, Idaho, where they ministered at the Fort Hall Indian Reservation and attended the Church of God of Prophecy. Following their separation, Betty returned to Boise to raise her sons as a single mother.
Betty was a hardworking and devoted provider for her family, working multiple jobs before beginning a long career at Eagle Water Company, where she served as office manager for more than 30 years. A woman of deep faith, she faithfully served the Nampa Church of God of Prophecy for 36 years in numerous leadership roles, including church treasurer, Sunday school superintendent, and children’s and ladies’ ministries leader.
Despite her busy life, Betty always made time for her family and loved taking her boys hunting and fishing. She welcomed not only her own children but also nieces, nephews, and many “extra” kids into her heart and home.
Above all, Betty will be remembered for her unwavering faith, strong work ethic, and the godly example she set for all who knew her. Her life was a testimony of God’s love, provision, and faithfulness.
Betty is survived by her brother, Norman Revels; her sons, Doug and Trudy Holt of Boise, and Monte and Shanon Holt; her nephew, Derrick Holt; her grandchildren, Brandi, Matthew, Steven, and Misty; and her great-grandson, Jacob and great, great grandson Hayden. She was known far and wide as “Grandma Betty” to the many children whose lives she touched through her local church.
