Donald 'Don' Bollinger Obituary Donald R. Bollinger 'Don', 94, left this world for the arms of his Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 28th. Don was a faithful husband of 73 years, the beloved father of 5 children, grandfather of 17, great-grandfather of 27, and great-great grandfather of two. Don leaves behind his beloved wife, Phyllis M. Bollinger (Millikan), his children and their children, save one grandson, Paul who preceded him in death. He was a faithful 60 year member of Boises Westside Bible Chapel & later Meridians Westside Bible Church. He was also an active member, for over 60 years of Gideons International. He held many positions of leadership from president on down, in the Tri-state region. He lived his faith and was responsible for leading many to a saving knowledge of Christ. He cheated death numerous times during his long life. He survived a fight with a 500 pound bear in the Oregon wilderness. An auto accident nearly severed his jugular. A fall down two stories of stairs couldnt take him. A quadruple heart bypass at age 70 occurred. While helping his son, the car's engine caught him on fire. 20% of his body was burned. Each event was not only met with courage but as a way to show Gods love to others how Christ suffered & died for us. Don was a WWII vet who faithfully served his country in Germany as a Military Policeman and in Intelligence. He was a successful banker and then became a very successful, 25 year State Farm Insurance agent and manager. As an agent, he was 6th in the entire nation in Life insurance sales. Then as a manager he turned around a failing district with his crazy life insurance promotions. He made work fun. As the patriarch of our family he was a tremendous example. He was a man of prayerhours were spent each day raising up to God the cares of family, widows, missionaries, but especially for those who didnt know his Savior. He was a compassionate giver. He contributed to over 40 charities and those spreading the good news of Jesus Christ just last year alone. He was not always tactful and could be a real stinker as his body wore out but when he hurt someone with words he was Godly enough to ask for their forgivenessespecially when Phyllis would say, "DONALD!".
We miss you already but look forward to a great reunion "One Day".
