Donald Ogren Obituary Donald J Ogren November 9, 1938 July 27, 2023 Don Ogren, 84, of Nampa, Idaho passed away July 27, 2023 in his home after a short illness. He was born in Lemmon, South Dakota. His parents relocated the family to the West Coast and settled in the area around Vacaville, California in the late 40s. He attended school in Dixon, California before joining the National Guard. He married LaVerne Parkhurst in 1959 at the Methodist Church in Dixon, California. They recently celebrated their 64th anniversary. Don and LaVerne had 3 children, Russ (Carol) of Port Orford, Oregon, Jeff of Nampa, Idaho (deceased), and Laura Ogren of Nampa, Idaho. He has 6 grandchildren, John Perez (Gabby), Bonnie OLeary (Casey), Stephen Perez, Kelly Paquin (Traves), Jaycee Perez (Carlos) and Juliann Ritchie (Jake) and 10 great-grandchildren. Don worked as a Lather for 55+ years beginning with M.F. Shipley Plastering out of Vallejo, California and later for John Delsman Plastering who moved the company from Vallejo to Meridian, Idaho in 1994. Don was a member of the Lathers/Carpenters Union. Don was an avid camper and loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed fixing cars, constructing houses and buildings and being an all-around handyman. His happiest times were spent with family at BBQs, reunions, camping and attending many graduations, weddings, and life events of immediate and extended family members. Gravesides services will be Monday, August 7, 2023 at Kohlerlawn Cemetery at 11 am. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
