Obituary

Donna Lee Hukill was called to Heaven November 4th, 2014 in Nampa. She was born in Nampa to Donald Leroy Hukill and Sharon Loosli Hukill Whitmore on August 22nd, 1956. She was the oldest of four girls, and later in life gained two stepbrothers. As a young child, Donna enjoyed helping her mother take care of the three younger girls and was full of life. She was a bright and vibrant person to be around and it really showed. Growing up, the family moved many times between Washington, Idaho and Arizona. As a teenager, Donna worked in the corn fields topping corn, groomed dogs, and worked at Renton High as a janitor and shared many stories from those years. Throughout the years to follow, she worked at Carnation. She later moved to Utah with Jody and her children to help care for and raise them. Donna and Jody worked at South Davis Hospital and enjoyed many years together. As the children grew and needs changed Donna moved to Arizona with her mother and stepfather. There she worked and helped care for her grandmother Dora. Donna treasured the time she got to care for her grandmother. While in Arizona she also worked at Harrahs Casino in Laughlin, Nevada as a housekeeper. After the passing of her mother, Donna took solace in becoming the full time nanny to her nieces twins. Donna loved children and had a special way with them, and they loved her. She was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Donna enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and being outdoors. Four wheeling was a favorite pass time for her. She had a great love for wolves and Indians; they both equally shared a special place in her heart. Donna was a kind, gentle, charitable soul. She rarely complained and always wanted to make people happy. She cared so deeply for others that she often forgot her own needs. She was in return loved just as deeply. Donna is preceded in death by her father and mother, and step mother Mary Hukill and step father Gary Whitmore, as well as her grandmother Dora Ross, and two sisters Janet Moala and Sandra Hukill. She is survived by her sister Jody Atwood and brothers Gary Whitmore and Dennis (Angie) Rydell, and brother in-law Sione Moala; also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and her many friends. The family would also like to say thank you to Dr. John Sadaj for his continued support and care for Donna as well as the Nampa St. Alphonsus Hospital and staff. A graveside service will be held at Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa on Monday, November 10th, 2014 at 2:00pm.
