Doris Jean Boehlke

August 12, 1931 — April 11, 2026

Nampa

Doris Jean (Cannady) Boehlke, 94, passed away on April 11th, 2026, in Nampa, Idaho. She was surrounded by her children and left us all peacefully to join her Lord and Savior, as well as her parents and her beloved husband Irvin William Boehlke.

She was born to Olin Bryan Cannady and Alma Rosa Maria (Zamzow) Cannady in Nampa, Idaho on August 12th, 1931, and was raised in the Treasure Valley. She was a lifetime member of Zion Luthern Church in Nampa; baptized, confirmed and married there. Her church family was something she treasured, and she found such joy in her women’s groups, bible studies and of course the choir. She attended public school in Nampa and graduated from Nampa High School in 1949. That is where she developed her love for art; something she enjoyed throughout her life.

On February 25th, 1951, she became the beloved wife of Irvin William Boehlke at Zion Lutheran Church. Their love and devotion to one another created a beautiful family of seven children: Stephen and wife Lauren (Evans) Boehlke, Kathy Boehlke (infant daughter deceased March 1957), Julie (Boehlke) and Doug Allison, Randy and Kathy (Bowen) Boehlke, Timothy and Faye (Bradshaw) Boehlke, Thomas Boehlke and Paul Boehlke, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and her home was a gallery of countless photos of her loved ones. Every surface was an opportunity she used to surround herself with love and family.

We have countless memories of watching her draw and color beautiful little works of art, listening to her hum in the kitchen as she baked the most delicious pies, and writing random notes and thoughts on bits of scrap paper. Her freezer always had a healthy supply of Jello pudding pops and ice cream for the grandkids. She hosted lovely afternoon tea parties with her grandchildren and neighborhood friends with her miniature tea sets. Her radio was always playing softly in the background, and she loved to sing along in her beautiful voice. She never met a stuffed animal or plant she didn’t love and her collection of both was proof of that. She was always put together and the epitome of a true lady. She enjoyed pulling her outfits together and was such a colorful dresser; from her shoes, her jewelry, and finally her signature coordinating scarf.

She was a volunteer at the Nampa Senior Center for many years and had lunch there several times each week. She was a member of the church choir and was a constant in the congregation for more than seven decades on Sunday mornings.

Although we are mourning the loss of our family’s matriarch, we are so happy that she and her beloved husband Irvin are together again at last. She has left our family with precious memories of her impromptu art lessons, the tasty cinnamon treats she made with leftover pie crust, listening to her sing her favorite hymns, her collection of miniature perfumes and lipsticks from Avon, playing office with all her fun supplies, her impressive Barbie collection, and the many books and games that were always at the ready for our visits.

We will all miss her and the void that she will leave in our family; but we are comforted knowing that she is finally home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that she is reunited with her beloved Irvin, baby Kathy and family.
