DOROTHY BOSCHMA Dorothy (Doortje) Johanna Geertruida Mathijssen Boschma, 82, of Kuna, passed away peacefully the morning of Wednesday, August 9th surrounded by her loving family. Born to Arend and Doortje Mathijssen in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1934 and came to the United States in 1953. World War II had its impact on her life and at the tender age of 14 she and her sister worked at the Verkade Chocolate Factory in Holland. Mom shared many stories of her life in Holland prior to boarding the SS Maasdam to the States. Dorothy met and married the love of her life, Harold, in California while attending school to learn English. Married in February 1955 they have had 62 wonderful years together raising children and working together on their dairies in Arizona and Idaho. Dorothys passion was serving her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Telling any and all who would listen how Gods grace and love was working miracles in her life. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Harold Boschma, Kuna; her children, Christine (Ron) Welker, Larry Boschma, Diane (Randy) Peterson, Dan (Darla) Boschma, Rose (Richard) Perez, Ron (Julie) Boschma; 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; Brothers, Arend (Kay) Mathijssen Jr., Lanny (Carol) Mathijssen and Jaap Mathijssen. Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Eeff Van Putten; her brother, Marinus Mathijssen (Rene) and her daughter, Brenda (Joe) Simon.
