Douglas Dean Pendleton, 47, of Caldwell, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at a Boise hospital after a long extended illness.
Douglas was born the youngest child of Gary Pendleton and Lena Archibald Pendleton (Velvick) in a Nampa hospital on April 3, 1967. He was raised and attended schools in Caldwell. He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1985 and moved to Arizona to attend automotive school for a brief time. December of 1985, Doug enlisted in the Navy.
Doug married LaDonna Jean Howell in 1986 and they had three children, Devon, Christopher and Kassandra, while together. Douglas fathered another daughter, Tianna, in 1993. His youngest son, Daultin, was born in 2004, while he was married to Melissa Evans.
Douglas loved cooking and has worked at several restaurants around the area throughout the years. His health forced him to retire in 2006. Doug was still the cook along with his mother for several years to follow at family gatherings.
Family vacations, especially on the Oregon coast, camping, fishing, household projects and working with wood were some of his favorite things. Doug dearly loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He became a father figure to other peoples children and claimed them as his own too. He developed strong lifelong bonds with others and was always there to lend a hand or give some advice. Doug will be very missed by all who knew and loved him.
Douglas is survived by his mother, Lena Velvick; father Gary (Bonnie) Pendleton; sister Deena(Ron) Sam; foster brother Ryan Phelps; his children: Christopher (Rocio) Pendleton; Kassandra Pendleton; Tianna White; Daultin Pendleton; adopted daughter, Faith Evans; adopted daughter Lisa (Josh) Potts; six grandchildren and numerous other adopted children.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Devon Pendleton and all his grandparents.
