Doug, 64, of Nampa, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, November 17, 2011.
Douglas was born the youngest of three children on November 24, 1946 in Schenectady, New York.
Doug and his wife Nancy live in Nampa. He was commissioned in the United States Navy in 1969 where he served 20 years and retired in 1989. Deployed in the Vietnam War he was part of the Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron 130 with deployment aboard the USS Constellation, USS Independence, USS John F Kennedy and considered a war hero aboard the EA-6B Prowler aircraft. In recent years he worked for the Boise School District. Doug was a wonderful husband and father of two girls, Shelly Ritza and Barbara Bowerman.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Rosecrans, sister Joan, brother Dick, daughters Shelly, and Barbara, his step sons Matt and Justin, step daughter Amanda, grandchildren Kaitlin& Kassidy Ritza, Katie Mae & Melody Greenway, and Christine & Luke Peterson.
Doug was a devoted husband and grandfather who enjoyed being around family, taking trips with his wife and watching his beloved Boise State Broncos. He was a meticulous wood craftsman who paid close attention to detail!
The family will be holding a military memorial service celebrating Dougs life at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at the Idaho State VeteransCemetery located at 10101 N. Horseshoe Bend Road in Boise. Services are under the direction of Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
