E. Annette (Hudson) Thompson
Born: January 22, 1928 in Akron Ohio to S. Joseph and Winfred Hudson.
Went to Heaven to join our Heavenly Father: January 22, 2017 in Nampa Idaho
She was the youngest of two daughters born to her parents and growing up in the local Baptist church, she gave her life to the Lord Jesus at an early age. She and her family were very active in their church, youth group and choir. After graduating from high school, she became a model for Paige Palmer Modeling Agency in Akron and was seen walking the run-way and garden parties while wearing the high fashion of the day.
She moved out West with her parents when her father was given an assignment in Phoenix, AZ for Good Year. When the assignment was over and they were being moved back to Ohio, she declared that she wanted to move to California----and move she did.
Her first apartment was in a boarding house where she rented a room and walked down the street two blocks to work in the cancer institute as a runner for the doctors, then a file clerk.
While at work one summer she spotted a tall handsome man that she later met and married. He was the love of her life. A WWII veteran, Martin ('Tom') Thompson Jr. was working in the heating and air conditioning field and was doing some repair work in the building where she worked. They soon married and started their family, later moving to Idaho in 1970 to get back to the four seasons and clean air. The adventure of a lifetime was just about to begin.
They decided on 380 acres in south central Idaho and lived in a tent for two months while waiting for the occupants to move out. No complaining allowed! They were a high class lady and the rancher from Montana ( kind of like Green Acres). Always the supportive wife, and determined to show she could 'do this', she kicked off her high heals and gave up her flip flops to put on boots and blue jeans, tied her hair up and went to work learning how to drive a tractor, buck bales, milk cows by hand, churn her own butter, homemade ice cream and can her own veggies from two large gardens.
She never said 'no' to trying something new, always with a song in her heart and on her lips. She had a song for everything, and when she didn't know one --- she just made one up. Her elegance and grace were only surpassed by her beauty and her heartfelt love of the Lord, her family and the life she was living. She always made the simple seem beautiful and the complicated simply lovely.
After loosing her husband in 1986, she moved to Nampa to be with to her children. She joined the Major's and Minor's singing group and went to work as a secretary for the Nampa School District where she retired when she was 67.
She raised two sons and taught them what it meant to become men and one daughter whom she taught what it meant to become a woman after her own heart. She taught her family to love and fear the Lord, to know and live by His word.
We will miss you dearly mom. Words fail to express our loss. We will carry you in our hearts always.
