Obituary

Eddy Sayers Obituary Eddy O.E. Sayers passed away peacefully with family by his side at home on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the age of 77. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the Melba Cemetery, followed by lunch and a celebration of life at the Melba Senior Center. Eddy was born December 28, 1947, at Mercy Hospital in Nampa, ID, to E.D. and Lois Gray Sayers. After graduating from Nampa High School, Eddy moved to California and worked for United Airlines in San Fransico for 18 years as a machinist and then foreman. Ed married Evelyn at their cabin in Cascade and would have celebrated 44 wonderful years together this June 27th. He was a good man who often said, "Ive had a good horse, a good dog, a good wife, and a good life." He was not wrong. He and Evelyn made Eds dream come true by purchasing his ranch near Ontario. The family spent the next 29 years making memories and raising cattle. Stories of the ranch will be told for generations to come, from branding in the spring, separating and weaning in the fall and the annual Sayers Christmas get-together. Parkinson's may have taken him too early, but in his time here, he will be remembered as a strong husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed by his wife, Evelyn, brother Jerry Sayers (Judy), sister Becky Tackett (Dale), and a large extended family of nieces and nephews who admired him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Dale Sayers. Services Graveside Service Wednesday May 28, 2025 10:00 AM Melba Cemetery Baseline Rd.
