Edgar G. Zimmerman passed peacefully into the loving arms of his personal Savior, a faith that guided his life and shared with everyone he met. He was born on November 17, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, to Waldo and Adele Zimmerman.

From an early age, Ed was athletic and disciplined, qualities that would shape much of his life. During the draft, he proudly answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps, an experience that instilled in him lifelong values of honor, perseverance, and commitment. He met the love of his life, Renee Bird, and they were married in 1966. In 1970, Ed and Renee placed their faith in Christ, a decision that shaped and blessed the remainder of their 56 years together.

Ed spent many years working in banking throughout California, Oregon, and Idaho, where he was respected for his integrity and dedication. He was a faithful member of Treasure Valley Baptist Church and shared his faith with everyone he encountered. Above all, he was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a loyal friend. He led by example, offering wisdom, encouragement, and enduring love to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Renee; his grandson, James; his eldest brother, Bill; mother Adele, and his father Waldo.

Ed is survived by brother Rick (Les) Zimmerman and sons, Todd (Laura) and Scott (Heather); his grandchildren, Niesha (Travis), Trey (Abbie), Natalie (Canyon), Kobe (Hadassah), Michael, Caleb (Macie),and Nadia (Chris); six great-grandchildren; Quincy, Alexander, Everett, Darcy, Malachi, Janie, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 23rd, at 1:00 p.m. at Treasure Valley Baptist Church, with a reception to follow in Meridian, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Boise Rescue Mission” in honor of Ed.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com. The family extends sincere thanks to Keystone Hospice for their compassionate care as well as to all family and friends for their prayers, kindness, and support.

While Ed will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith, love, and steadfast devotion will continue to live on in the lives of those he leaves behind. We rejoice in the assurance that he is now home with his Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
