Edith M. Saunders Lane, 99, of Nampa, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at a Nampa care facility. She was born February 10, 1914 on a farm near Troy, Kansas to Mary Andrew Saunders and William T. Saunders, where she grew up with her family of 3 sisters and 2 brothers. In 1941 the family moved to California. Edith married Forest Lamont Lane in Yuma, Arizona January 22, 1949. No children were born to this union. Edith worked at Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, CA as an electrical installer and bench mechanic and at Greyhound Bus Co. in Los Angeles as a dispatch clerk for a number of years, before moving to Nampa in 1976. Edith was a faithful member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Edith is survived by 2 sisters, Bertha Byers of Hemet, CA and Beulah Blum of St. Joseph, MO. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Arthur and Alfred Saunders and 1 sister, Dorothy Frakes. A viewing will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday September 3, 2013 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday September 4, 2013 at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, Idaho.
