Edward "Ed" John Eichenberger, 89, of Nampa, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Kindred Nursing Center Nampa. A celebration of Eds life will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 27 at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave So. Pastor Dennis Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell. The family will greet family and friends at the Nampa Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, April 26 from 5 7 PM. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com. Ed was born September 10, 1926 in Gray Saskatchewan, Canada to Walter and Janet Eichenberger. He graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in the late 1940s and from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City in the early 1950s. On June 4, 1949 he married the former Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Goodwin of Columbus, Ohio. Ed was employed as a pastor in the Church of the Nazarene where he served in multiple congregations across the country in Ohio, Wisconsin, Idaho, Illinois and Michigan. He enjoyed his lifes work as a committed servant to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. During his retirement he volunteered at Love INC of Treasure Valley, enjoyed family, occasional fishing and his West Highland Terriers Beau, Bonnie and Clyde. Throughout his retirement he remained active in his church and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Ed is survived by his daughter, Nancy Eichenberger-Igli, and her husband Kevin, Fayetteville, Arkansas and his granddaughters, Emily Anne Igli, Fayetteville, Arkansas and Julia Margaret Igli, Nashville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Janet, wife Betty in 2010, son Steven Eichenberger in 2014, his brothers Ralph and Walter, and sisters Ethel, Alvina, and Janet. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Love INC of Treasure Valley, 16446 Franklin Blvd., Nampa, ID 83687.
