Eileen Duncan, 82, of Nampa, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. A Celebration of Life Service for Eileen will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Karcher Church of the Nazarene, 2515 W. Karcher Rd. in Nampa.
Eileen Duncan was born to August and Ella Karlson on July 28, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. She lived in Harvey, IL and had two younger sisters, Syliva and Becky. Growing up, Eileen attended Bryant Elementary and was very outgoing and well liked. She was social, popular and active at both school and church youth groups. She loved to roller skate at the local rink and went often with her friends. Eileen attended Thornton Township High School where she was a member of the choir and glee club. She loved to sing and perform. Later, after her junior year, her family moved to Santa Barbara, CA for a job her father took. Eileen made friends easily and soon became very active in Luther League, a teen active group at her church. In 1961, she graduated from San Marcos High and then pursued an Associate of Arts Degree in Business at Santa Barbara City College. Eileen moved to Seattle, WA in 1964 where she began working for Boeing. Continuing her love of singing, she joined the Boeing adult choral group where she met her future husband, Michael Duncan. Mike and Eileen were married June 13, 1970, in King County, WA when she was 27. They later moved to Yakima, WA where Eileen gave birth to their first child, daughter Jennifer Anne, in 1971. A change in employment for Mike moved them down to Tulelake, CA and in 1973 they welcomed their second daughter, Angela Marie. Then in 1975, Mike’s work took the family back north to Washington state where they settled in Grandview, WA and in 1976, Mike and Eileen welcomed Christina Eileen to complete their family of five. Eileen worked for over 30 years as a secretary at Aircraft Applicators, a small family-owned crop-dusting company located in Prosser, WA. In addition to her role as a mother, Eileen’s life in Grandview was filled with activities. She was an active member in her church, Bethany Presbyterian, where she sang in choir and worship team as well as served on various church committees. Eileen also volunteered with the Lower Valley Pregnancy Center and was a charter member of her beloved women’s barbershop chapter of Sweet Adelines, the Rolling Hills Chorus. On the weekends, she and Mike enjoyed square dancing or when time allowed, escaped with the family to their rustic family cabin in the Cascade Mountains. In 2014, Mike and Eileen made their final move to Nampa, ID to be closer to family and attended Karcher Church of the Nazarene. Even after Mike’s passing in 2018, Eileen found joy singing with the choral group The Grace Notes, spending time with family, watching her grandchildren grow up and continuing to build lasting relationships with everyone she met. She will be truly missed!
Eileen is survived by her sisters Sylvia and Rebecca, daughters Jennifer, Angela and Christina, their spouses Mia, Aaron and Dale, as well as four grandchildren Lindsay, Megan, Nathan and Frances.
