Eileen Liz Isabelle (Cullen) Kasnick left our earthly presence August 29, 2014, at the age of 84. She passed away peacefully with her loving husband at her side.
Eileen was born one of six children on November 5, 1928 at the family farm in Hume, Saskatchewan, Canada. After graduating high school, she attended and graduated from St. Paul's School of Nursing in Saskatoon, Sask., Canada as a Registered Nurse.
After nursing school, Eileen and her friends decided to work at the local hospital in Tillamook, OR to make some extra money for a "girls trip" to Santa Barbara and New Orleans. Her trip was cut short when Eileen met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Kasnick. On July 21, 1956, Bob and Eileen were married in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada. Shortly after, they moved to The Dalles, Oregon, and began a family of their own: Kevin in 1957, Maureen in 1959 and Colleen in 1967. While living in The Dalles, Eileen was a Registered Nurse at The Dalles Clinic working for Dr. Hollis Hendricks for nearly forty years.
Eileen enjoyed being with family and friends. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Altar Society and a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed camping, music and traveling to California and Idaho to be with family.
After retirement Eileen was taken on another path. She started showing signs of dementia and Alzheimers. Even though this was mainly a personal experience, its lasting effects were felt throughout the family and as a result, made us each stronger in many ways.
Finally on August 29, 2014, Eileens life came to a close and began a new life in Heaven. She will be met with family and friends who have gone before her and continue to watch over all of us on Earth.
Eileen leaves on Earth a loving family: her husband Bob; three children, Kevin (Renae) Kasnick, Elk Grove, CA, Maureen (Darrin) Peterson, Nampa, ID & Colleen (Mike) Fein, Donnelly, ID; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Wray Jordan of Canada; and nieces Debra Stewart, Kim Hogg and nephew Terry Jordan and many great-nieces and nephews all of Canada.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.
