IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eldon Clarence
Taylor
April 13, 1922 – March 1, 2011
Eldon Clarence "Bud" Taylor, 88, of Nampa, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at his home. Bud was born on April 13, 1922, in Bushnell, NE, to Elmer and Pearl Taylor. He grew up in Kimball, NE, graduating from high school in 1940. He joined the Army in 1942, serving during World War II in Africa and Italy. On November 5, 1945, he married Edna Mae Lacy. In 1947 they moved to Nampa, Idaho, where they raised their son, Edward, and daughter, Vicki. Bud was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard and Donald, and his sister, Dorothy. He was loved by all who knew him and is survived by his wife of 65 years, Edna, his sister, Wyoma (Toots) Stoddard, his 2 children, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
"Bud", as he was known by friends and family, worked for many years at Kings Packing Plant. He was particularly proud of the fact that he worked 17 years without missing a day. All that ended in 1964 when he was struck with a life altering brain tumor which left him partially blind and unable to ever work again. That is when he began his love of walking. Many people will remember Bud as he walked through the neighborhoods at first a 5 mile circle with the help of a white cane he made himself; then a half mile trek along the Greenbelt at River Oaks with the help of a walker where he knew every crack in the sidewalk; until finally his daily walk around the block in his Lake Grove subdivision. Bud loved to be outside and meet new people along the way. His family would like to thank all the people who over the years came out of their businesses and homes to visit and ask how he was doing. People like the mailman who regularly pulled up beside him just to say "hi", or the little girl next door who would run outside to greet him as he passed by you will never know how much you meant to him.
The day before he died, Bud said to his son, "I wish the Good Lord just would take me." We feel that God answered that prayer by gently taking him without a struggle and for that we are eternally grateful, as we know he now abides with his Lord and Savior.
At Buds request there will be no public services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel
