Eleanor Stadler Cowger, 95, was reunited on August 20, 2013 with her family that she missed for so many years. She died peacefully with loved ones by her side at Grace Assisted Living in Meridian, ID.
Eleanor was born November 24, 1917 in Faribault, Minnesota to Nicholas Stadler and Catherine Adams Stadler. In her late teens, she met Darrell Cowger of Nampa, while he was working in Faribault. They were married in Nampa at St Pauls Catholic Church December 26, 1936. The following year, they returned to Faribault. Their only child, Wayne, was born in 1940. They moved back to Nampa in 1950. They enjoyed camping, fishing and had many adventures with family and friends. Eleanor and Darrell were married for 44 years before Darrells death in September, 1980.
Eleanor then spent her time with many friends by attending the Nampa Senior Center and always looked forward to attending senior dances. She met Lee Foster at one of those dances. They enjoyed one anothers company for 25 years. Lee died in 2006. Eleanor lived her life with a deep faith in God and was active in St Pauls Catholic Church. After she could no longer attend Church due to declining health, Mary Keys from St Pauls would visit weekly to provide Communion. She was very thankful to Mary for this kindness.
Eleanor remained active and independent, living in her own home. Her caring neighbors and friends were always there for her when she needed a helping hand. In May, serious health problems required her to move into Grace Assisted Living. She enjoyed her apartment, playing bingo, making friends, and especially the compassionate staff that made her feel at home. At the end, the loving staff of Encompass Hospice and Grace helped her with her journey home to her Lord and Savior.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Darrell, her siblings; Charles, John, Henry, Mary, Edward, Anna, Bernard and, her companion, Lee. She is survived by her son, Wayne (Jan) of Meridian; her grandchildren, Shelley Cowger of Boise, Stacey (Steve) Noffz of Kuna, and Rob Cowger of Novato, CA; and, her great-grandchildren, Tylor & Haley Noffz of Kuna, and Gabe & Ben Cowger of Novato, CA. She is also survived by her brother, Don Stadler of Silver Bay, MN, her sister-in-law, Gin Cowger of Kuna, her sister-in-law Doris Cowger of Nampa, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was looking forward to the BSU Bronco Football season, so well hear her cheering from up above, Go Broncos! She will be deeply missed by us all.
