Elias Lopez Obituary With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Elias Roberto Lopez, known to many as Roberto, who peacefully passed away on January 27, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones in Meridian, Idaho. He was 79 years old. Roberto was born on June 8, 1945 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, and was the eldest of seven siblings. In 1967, he migrated to the United States as a farm laborer in pursuit of a better life. A year later, in 1968, he met and married the love of his life, Eda Diaz, with whom he built a beautiful family and had five children. After years of working in the fields, Roberto found steady employment with J.R. Simplot, where he dedicated 35 years of hard work before retiring. He resided in Burley, Idaho, for most of his adult life before moving to Nampa two years ago to live with his daughter due to health reasons. Roberto was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and resilience. He is survived by his children: Robert (Michelle) Lopez, Steven Lopez, and Juanita (Jorge) Morales; three sisters and two brothers: Juanita Torres, Alicia Valenzuela, Martha (Luis) Mata, Ricardo (Juanita) Flota, and Arturo (Dora) Flota. He was also blessed with 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. As well as many nieces and nephews. He wass preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eda Lopez;; his mother, Teresa Cadena; his twin sons, Robert and Richard; his brother, Guadalupe Lopez; and his father, Ricardo Flota. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Swan Falls Assisted Living and their compassionate staff, which included his granddaughter Yessenia for the loving care they provided for Roberto in his final years. A Visitation and Rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Nampa Funeral Home, 415 12th Avenue South, Nampa, Idaho 83651. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pauls Catholic Church, 510 West Roosevelt Avenue, Nampa, Idaho. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Nampa, Idaho. Robertos legacy of kindness, perseverance, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
