Elizabeth Keim Obituary Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Keim March 9, 1938 - November 28, 2022 Betty Keim, 84, entered into eternal rest on Monday peacefully at her home in Nampa. Betty began her life in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Born to Bob & Lillian Moore. She spent the majority of her childhood in the Seattle/Tacoma, Washington area. Her Irish & Norwegian parents gave her great memories of exploring & living in the Pacific Northwest. As a girl, Betty enjoyed Hood Canal clam oyster digs, the salmon runs, and swimming across Lake Washington Bettys father served as a Sears & Roebuck store director. In 1954, Bettys father moved the family to Caldwell, Idaho as he took on management of a new store. Betty transitioned to Caldwell High School during her sophomore year. During her first few years in Idaho, Betty made new life-long friends and she met a tall handsome boy from Nampa named Dick Keim. Their dates turned into love and the couple married June 22, 1957. Soon thereafter, Dick attended McPherson College in Kansas. There, Dick and Bettys first child, Tobin Michael began his life in May of 1958. The young family soon returned to Idaho to live on the family farm Willowdale in Nampa. Dick worked with his family at the H.H. Keim Meat Packing plant adjacent to the farm. Dick and Betty gave life to three more children while living at Willowdale: Julie Ann, April 1959; Todd Andrew, October 1961, and Richard Victor III (Rick), October, 1964. Betty took pride in her lifes work of serving others. She aided her children and grandchildren as a wonderful mother and grandmother, and she supported her husband through his endeavors as a devoted spouse. When economic times were difficult , Betty worked alongside her husband and family in the meat plant. She also worked tirelessly to keep her children safe on the farm with an active railway, new interstate freeway, bustling meatpacking traffic, and Indian Creek nearby. Soon after the sale of the meat business in the late 1980s, Betty & Dick moved to Sparks, Nevada to work with John Ascauga and his Nugget Casino organization. They established a new home there and made many new friends. While in Sparks, Betty worked in the Nugget Casino gift shop. She loved being around people and helping customers find the perfect gift. Yearly she attended all the Nugget Rib cookoffs & High Sierra Chef Association banquets. The couple returned to Idaho in 2004 to retire. They built a home in Nampa and became very involved with the Broadmore Country Club .They spent their time entertaining, golfing, and enjoying time with their friends in McCall. Betty finally fulfilled her lifelong dream to go overseas & visit Ireland. Dick & friends took her there in 2011. Betty lost her soulmate, Dick, in 2013; however, she continued to enjoy her time with her family and lifelong friends. An Alzheimers diagnosis in 2015 hit hard, yet Betty remained strong and courageous in her fight with this affliction. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick; her parents, Bob and Lillian; sisters Pat and Connie; and her brother, Harold. Betty is survived by her four children, their significant others, and their families: Tobin & Dona (Boise); Julie (Nampa); Todd & Sheila (Goodyear, AZ); and Rick & Janey (Caldwell). Also, by her brother/sister in- law, Mike & Loretta Moore (Arizona); and sisters in-law Sybil Keim (Arizona) and Sandy Keim (Virginia). Along with Bettys 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. All living with her memory along their side. Bettys family are sincerely grateful to her caregivers Cheryl Villa & Lori Cooper. And Heart n Home Hospice for their dedicated care of our mother.
