Elva Fischer Obituary Elva M. Fischer
April 27, 1945 - Oct. 20, 2024
Elva M. Fischer, 79, of Nampa, ID, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Elva was born April 27, 1945, in Weed, California, to Elvin and Edith Anderson. Unfortunately, Elvin passed before meeting his daughter, but she was lucky enough to be raised by Don Anderson. She attended school in Weiser, ID and continued her education at Boise Junior College through their nursing school. Elva later married Steve Holz and brought two beautiful girls, Tracy and Chris, into the world. Although they later separated, their lives remained happily intertwined. She later remarried her best friend, Dennis Fischer, who brought much love and adventure into her life. They were married until his passing in 2019. Elva is remembered by all for being a loving and selfless sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Although Elva enjoyed her alone time she spent much of her time with her family. As a young girl she often played on the flats in Weiser with her sister, Sharon, and younger brothers, Don and Darrell. When she had a family of her own, she spent her days caring for her two daughters and later taking on the care of her grandchildren whenever needed.
From the outside, Elva appeared to be quiet and shy. However, those who knew her would tell you that she was a strong woman; whose advice to others was to choose happiness each day and ignore those who wanted otherwise. Elva enjoyed simple pleasures in life such as walking on the beach at the Oregon Coast hand and hand with her daughters or searching for shells with her grandchildren. Her family would end up taking many trips with her to the coast, and it became a special place for her family. The family would also often gather at her house during football season to watch the BSU games.
She taught her children and grandchildren many lessons over the years, and these vital lessons will be carried on through the family as they grow their own. Her daughters, Tracy and Chris, are grateful for the words she shared about being who they are and instilling the confidence they walk through life with. Her son-in-law, Audie, considers himself lucky to have had such a warm and accepting mother-in-law. Elvas eldest granddaughter, Brie, is thankful for all the endless support that was given to her at all points in her life. The second eldest grandchild, Amanda, loved when holidays came around because Elva always made it a special time for the grandchildren. Lane, Elvas only grandson, is thankful for the safe home she provided to him every day after school and for embracing all the energy that his young ones brought even when she was in pain. Her youngest grandchild, Logan, will forever cherish their time in the kitchen where she was taught all the family recipes and became a place where they spoke about everything under the sun. Elva gave unconditional love and understanding to all she encountered and will continue to live in many hearts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers (Elvin & Darrell), and husband Dennis. She is survived by daughters Tracy McKinsey and Chris (Audie) Robbins, grand-children Brianne McKinsey, Amanda (Jerath) Hansen, Lane (Sarah) Robbins, and Logan (Wayne) Robbins, great-grandchildren Bekka Robbins, Elle Robbins, Josie Robbins, Jett Robbins, and Icarus Hansen, sister Sharon Sprague, and brother Don Anderson.
