Obituary

Emil Hank Henry Schanbeck passed away peacefully at age 80 on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at home with his loving wife by his side. Hank was born on January 19, 1934 in Jerome, Idaho to John and Katie Schanbeck. In January 1985, Hank married Sue, and with their combined families, had six childen. As the family grew, they had 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Hank was an accomplished family man. A very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and all around great guy. His sense of humor was like none other. He loved all of his family and enjoyed the time he spent with them so much. Hank started his first job at age 11 bucking hay. He would take many different career directions including the mobile home industry as a production manager for 30 years. His love was wood working, primarily cabinet making. Hank served in the US Army as a carpenter in Korea from 1953 - 1955. He eventually retired in 1999 after 19 years from the Idaho State School and Hospital as a carpenter. Hank was active in the Southside Methodist church. Serving in many capacities including as a trustee for seven years, visitation committee, maintenance, even lawn mower when need be, and pretty much anything else that needed to be done. Hank was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, 1 brother, mother-in-law, and is survived by his wife, Sue; sister Doris and brother Ray; children, Neil, Diana, Scott, David, Preston, Monica; grands Neil II, Naomi, Chrissy, Cody, Alicia, Aliana, April, PJ, Christopher, Jessica, Megan, his Teenie Bopper Delaney, Jaden, Avery; great grand children; Nicholas, Matthew, Hannah, Ali, Trevor, Abby, Byrne, Cadren, Audrey, Daniel, Joey, Denise, and several nieces and nephews. Hank wants be remembered for The good father I tried to be and all of the hard work I did with my hands. He often joked he was like Burger King - He wanted things his way. The Family truly believes as in life, so it was in his passing, he had it his way. Services will be Saturday, September 6 @ 11:00 a.m. at Southside Methodist Church 5420 Southside Blvd Nampa, ID 83686.
