Flora Elizabeth Ayers went to be with Jesus on January 17, 2017. Flora was born May 20, 1933 in Los Angeles, California. She was the youngest of sixteen children born to J. T. and Louella (Hastings) Little. Her father served as the District Superintendent of the Southern California District of the Church of the Nazarene. Due of the death of her father when she was age 5, she moved with her mother to Newberg Oregon for a few years and then they moved back to Alhambra, California. In her teen years she was sent to school at the Nazarene College High school at Nampa, Idaho. After graduation she moved back to Southern California and met and married Danny Ayers. They had one son, Daniel Ernest Ayers born in 1959.After Danny and Flora were divorced, Flora raised her son in the Alhambra and Covina area. One of her favorite things to do with her son and his friends was pack them up and take them to the beach. Her son stated that his mother always found a way to make things happen and she supported him all through his youth in his love of playing baseball. Flora worked most of her career for California Sentry Hardware and retired from there in 1998. In December of 1998 she moved to Nampa, Idaho to be near her sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Dwain Lowry, her sister in law Charlotte Hughes, and a multitude of nieces and nephews. While in Nampa, Flora attended First Church of the Nazarene.
Flora is survived by her son Daniel and wife Alicia Ayers of Alhambra, California, three grandchildren, Matthew, Nicole, and Christopher Ayers all of Alhambra, one brother Alvin Little of Palm Desert, California, and literally hundreds of nieces, and nephews in Idaho, Oregon, California and all over the nation.
We wish to thank all of her caregivers, and the folks of Sunnyridge Genesis Retirement center for giving Flora joy in her last days. A celebration of life service will be later this spring when family and friends can get together.
