George Dines, 72 yrs. of Marsing ID, passed peacefully December 10, 2014 at home with his family surrounding him. George was born and raised in Marsing ID to Russell and Faye Hayes Dines May 3, 1942. He graduated from Marsing High in 1960 and on November 9, 1963 he married Jackie Jones. Together they had 3 children, Mike, Michelle "Babe" and Mark. He drove truck for Feller Trucking and Jim Kent Trucking. In 1965 George began working on Ranches all over the Owyhees and Eastern Oregon. Then in 1977 he quit ranching, moved back to Marsing and began training and shoeing horses full time. He competed professionally in horse shows all over the N.W., both in the Snaffle Bit Futurities and Cow Cutting Competitions. George was very instrumental in getting the Amateur Division into the IRCHA. He wanted to make sure there was a place for young trainers. He truly loved helping people and held Horsemanship Clinics from Northern Montana to Nevada, so that anyone wanting to become a better horseman could do so. Dad was always involved in our lives and his grandkids lives, no matter what our interest might be. He made us feel supported, protected and very loved. He will truly be missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and infant brother. He is survived by his wife, Jackie and their 3 children, Mike and his wife-Lili Dines, Michelle Babe Archer and Mark Dines; 6 grandchildren, Troy (Cara) and Carey Dines, JaNae, Cole and Courtney Archer and Jayce Dines; one great grandchild, Rosie Dines; three brothers and two sisters, Lucille (Don) Aldrich, Frank (Ellen) Dines, Donna (Bob) Webb, Ralph (Margie) Dines, Rich (Sherry) Dines and many nieces and nephews.
