George A. Heath, 89, of Nampa, Idaho passed away April 18, 2013 at home with his Loving Wife of 60 years by his side. George was born in Tottenham London, England on February 24, 1924 to Thomas and Dorthy Heathorn. He served in the British Navy during WWII, then came to the United States in the late 1940s. George married Helen Branstter from New Meadows, ID on Feb 7, 1953. They had three sons and resided in Nampa, ID. Prior to his military service he worked as a baker and a service station attendant. He joined the U.S. military in 1950 and retired after 32 years of service in 1982 as a First Sergeant. George had many hobbies including, fishing, camping, R.V. trips, bowling, gardening, bargain hunting. He loved to cook and always cooked up amazing holiday dinners. His favorite joy in life was watching his Children and Grand Children in their school activities. George was a very loving and devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather. George and Helen attended the South Side Blvd. United Methodist Church where they were active members for the past 25 years. George is survived by his wife Helen of Nampa; sons Michael of Nampa, Steven ( Jodi ) of Nampa, Fred ( Sherry) of Caldwell, Julie and family of Boise; Grandchildren, Michael G., Erik, Timothy , Lacie Rosti, Zachary, Tyler, Regan, Devin, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Grandson Shane Heath of Melba ID, Granddaughter Andrea Heath of Nampa Id. and several Brothers and Sisters. A viewing will be held from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, April 23rd at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel in Nampa ID. Services will be held Wed. April 24th at 11am at the South Side United Methodist Church in Nampa, ID. Following the service a Full Military Honor service and burial will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise ID. at 3pm.
