Obituary

George "Taft" Benson, IV, 66, of Nampa passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at a Boise hospital. Taft was born in Boise on December 9, 1943 to George T. Benson, III and Wilma "Billie" Harris Benson. He graduated from Boise High School in 1962. Taft served an L.D.S. mission in Germany. He graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Taft married Margaret Ann Baldwin on May 27, 1966 in the Salt Lake City L.D.S. Temple. He served various callings in his church. His career included banking, mortgage lending, and furniture sales at R.C. Willey, retiring in September of 2009.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father in law, Robert L. Baldwin.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Monica (Mark) Peterson, Suzann (Ryan) Hawkes and Sarah (Daniel) Burton; 11 grandchildren; and his mother in law, June Baldwin; He is also survived by two sisters, Mardi (Boyd) Hill and Maureen (Paul) Clayton; a brother, Brian (Diane) Benson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday July 28, 2010 at the Locust Building, L.D.S. Church in Nampa. A viewing will be held on Tuesday,July 27, 2010 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. and on Wednesday from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. in the relief society room prior to services. Burial will be in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa
