Gerda Marie Gasch (Kurzbach) of Nampa died Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at the age of 88, following a courageous battle with scleroderma.

Gerda was born in Oppeln, Germany, where she met and married her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Erwin Gasch. She took great pleasure in spending time with her family and friends, and was an active member of St. Pauls Catholic Church in Nampa.

In addition to her husband, Gerda is survived by her daughter Monika Bates, son James Gasch, daughter-in-law Vickie Gasch, and grandchildren Matthew Gasch, Ph.D., Aleks Bates, and Niki Bates. She is also survived by her sister Helga Zehendner, and was predeceased by her son Michael Gasch.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 at the St. Pauls Catholic Church, Nampa. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
