"After deciding to take a writing class, my first assignment was to write my obituary which has entered my thoughts many times. So, why not!" Glenda
Born Glenda Joy Lowe on August 30, 1941 to Percy and Thelma Lowe in Nampa, ID at the old Mercy Hospital (not called a landmark). I was born into the best of both worlds, the Lowes and the Thompsons. I grew up on the Lowe Farm, enjoying what a country life can be.
I attended Happy Valley country school that my grandfather was the janitor and my grandmother was the cook when I was younger. It had the best fire escape slide from the tiny library. I enjoyed Kuna Jr. High and High school participating in basketball, volleyball, thespians, debate and journalism and graduated in 1959 with all of my super classmates; close until this very day! After graduating, I worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Nampa, Boise and Anaheim, CA.
I married Donavon Gross on September 30, 1960 in Nampa and then relocated in Anaheim, CA and worked at Mountain Bell Anaheim, West Anaheim Community and Placentia Linda Hospitals. After 20 years we returned to Nampa and I was employed at Mercy Medical Center until retiring after 30 years in 2014.
After returning to Nampa, our marriage ended in divorce and I eventually built a new home near my mother and enjoyed quality time with my family and to be near my daughters, grandchildren and great grandson. We spent lots of holidays together; camping at Siscra; Picnics (a Thompson tradition); There is nothing better than being all together.
Survived by daughters, Kelly (Sam) Logan, Kim (Bryan) Bourdon and Korrey Brewer all of Nampa; grandchildren, Amber, Andrew (Alana), Ian, Erin, Shannon, Zackery, Jamey and Matthew (Emily); great grandson, Lukaih; and a future great granddaughter; brothers, Eric Lowe of Nampa and Lee (Edith) Lowe of Imbler, OR; special cousins, Ron Brown, Gary and Linda Brown and Joan Newman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by my parents Percy and Thelma Lowe; step father, Otto Speilman; and my special Angel, grandson Kurtis Ludwig.
