Following Jacob, Family and friends are welcome to share a story or memory of Gloria.
Gloria was born July 18, 1950, in Caldwell, Idaho to her parents, Jake and Margaret Lopez. She attended school in Canyon County. Gloria was married and had two children. She worked at a Nampa Tech company for several years. She bought a home in Nampa and later transitioned to a career as a home health care provider. She had formed bonds with both the people she cared for and their family members. She truly enjoyed being of service to people.
Gloria also enjoyed doing volunteer work for Meals on Wheels and the Foster Grandparents program via Senior Corps. She enjoyed spending time at the Idaho Hispanic Community Center in Nampa. Gloria moved in with her father Jake Lopez to take care of him when his health started to decline. She was a dedicated daughter and remained with her father Jake until he passed.
Gloria enjoyed collecting dolls of all kinds as a lifelong hobby that started in her early childhood. She would restore them if needed and enjoyed finding outfits and jewelry for them. Gloria loved to thrift shop to add to her doll collection or just to treasure hunt. She had a deep fondness for costume jewelry. She had a large collection. Gloria loved cookies, or "Coo-keys" how she pronounced it. While living with her brother Randy and sister-in-law Kim, she had a cookie chair that she used playfully and had her nephews little chihuahua, Charlie, come over to clean up any crumbs that she left. After the service, we are celebrating her by doing one of her favorite things: eating "coo-keys" and enjoying the company of family, friends, and music. We will have some fruit and coffee as well. Feel free to bring your favorite cookie if you wish.
Gloria is proceeded in death by Margaret Lopez and Jake Lopez. Gloria is survived by her two daughters Jennifer Sellin and Jeannette Rodriguez, her brother, and sister-in-law Randy and Kim Lopez, her four grandchildren, Jerney Callahan, Julienne Sellin, Thaddeus and Trey Rodriguez, one beloved great granddaughter, Ezlynn Rodriguez Fidanza, and many beloved Aunts, Uncles cousins and friends.
At the end of her life mom was so excited to be back in Caldwell in her own place and had so many plans on how she would decorate. We had just ordered rugs and had plans to look at recliners and couches during the presidents day sales. She will be missed by many.
Rest in Peace mom, Jenny.
