Gloria 'Lala' Vela Obituary Gloria "Lala" Vela, 69, of Nampa, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, after her battle with aliment illness, surrounded by her two sons, grandkids, and family. A brief viewing will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, from 5-7p.m. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. S., Nampa. A Celebration of life service will be conducted at 10a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Sunnyridge Church 2121 Sunnyridge Rd., Nampa. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Nampa. Gloria was born on Oct 12, 1953, in Alamo, Texas, to Rosendo & Nasaria Reyna. She was the sixth of 13 children. While growing up, Gloria and her siblings and cousins wreaked their own sort of havoc together through fun and adventure. Glorias parents relocated her and her siblings to Nampa, Idaho in 1961 where she attended school until she worked for her father as a farm laborer for many years alongside her siblings. She then went on to work for Carnation (JR Simplot) for over 37 years, where she shared many laughs and memories with co-workers. Gloria cherished gatherings with her siblings and other family members. She had a great sense of humor and was the life of the occasion when she shared jokes and humorous stories, always making everyone laugh. Gloria loved helping her family and friends and was never hesitant to get her hands grimy. Whether it was aiding with washer repair or troubleshooting your dishwasher over a phone call that never ended without a good laugh, she cherished spending time with her boys and grandchildren. Her favorite thing in the world were her boys. She was their biggest supporter, their biggest fan, and she protected them with her love. Our Mom, Sister, Tia and Grandma fought the good fight. The final battle was fought with great courage and a smile, during this time she found comfort and strength from her relationship with God. She is now resting with God and her family in His peace. She will be truly missed. She is survived by her two sons, Benito Vela and Noe Vela (Corina), her beloved grandchildren, Angelo, Alonzo, Jaida, Asia, Aricela and Mireya. Her siblings, Emma, Beatrize (Luis), Rosendo, Robert (Trina), Ramiro (Barbara), Belinda, Ruben (Eva) and Reynaldo. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Raul, Roman, Rolando, Romel Reyna, Nephews Reymundo and Daniel Reyna, grandparents, cousins, and numerous aunts and uncles.
